The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy said that Ukraine imported 351.5% of total energy at the beginning of this week compared to the end of last week. Due to Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities, which reduced the country's ability to produce energy by 50%.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy issued a statement regarding Ukraine’s energy import on Sunday, March 24 only, which reached 14.9 thousand megawatts per hour, while stopping exports to meet local energy needs.
The Russian bombing of Ukrainian energy facilities began on the evening of Friday, March 22, as a response to Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil facilities about a month ago, and the impact of this appeared on the amount that Ukraine imports of electricity, as Ukraine imported on Friday – that is, before the Russian attacks – the equivalent of 3.3 One thousand megawatts per hour, while on Sunday – that is, after the Russian attacks – it imported the equivalent of 14.9 thousand megawatts per hour, which means that it increased imports by 351.5%.
Although Ukraine stopped its exports on Sunday, it exported about 2,148 megawatt-hours on Friday before the Russian attacks.
