“Iran” seeks to expand nuclear cooperation with “Russia” and “China”

March 25, 2024

Iran is seeking to expand the scope of its cooperation with Russia and China in the field of nuclear energy, according to statements by the spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Behrouz Kamalvandi.

This cooperation aims to benefit from foreign resources and technologies in building nuclear power plants and developing the Iranian nuclear industry.

Russia will build two nuclear power plants in Iran, operate the Bushehr nuclear power plant, and discuss opening the Caspian Sea route to transport nuclear materials, while cooperation with China will be greater and in different and broader areas.

Among the most important challenges facing the Iranian nuclear program are American and European international pressure, American sanctions on Iran that hinder the nuclear program, and the lack of clarity in Russia and China’s commitment to developing the Iranian nuclear program.

Therefore, Iran seeks to expand its nuclear cooperation with Russia and China to enhance its capabilities in this field, but this cooperation faces political and economic challenges.
