Russia exports 82.9 million barrels of oil to Europe in less than three months

March 26, 2024

A report issued by the Black Sea Group showed that Russia’s oil exports to Europe in the period from the first of December 2023 to the end of February 2024 amounted to 82.9 million barrels. 30% of that quantity was exported directly by Russia to Europe.

European oil and transportation companies transported these shipments through the Black Sea despite the European Union and America imposing sanctions on Russia in terms of exporting oil to Europe in general. Italy alone received about 14.4% of Russian oil transported directly to Europe.

The "Euromaidan" website said that 68.8% of the amount of oil exported from Russia to Europe was exported indirectly through the Gulf of Laconia near Greece, and the "Black Sea" group determined the number of ships exported from Russia to Europe at 94 ships, including 52 Greek ships and 11 Turkish ship.

Russia's exports of crude oil in February 2024 amounted to about 4.2 million tons, while exports of oil derivatives amounted to about 3.9 million tons. These statistics come in light of India's shift away from importing Russian oil, especially oil belonging to the Russian company Sovcomflot.
