The 16th edition of the Global Future Energy Summit 2024 kicks off today at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), hosted by Masdar. The summit – which will be held over three days – will focus on advancing the path of change that was established at the COP28 conference in Dubai. Last year, focusing on achieving sustainability and renewable energy goals.

The summit is a leading global platform for sharing knowledge. It will include more than 350 international experts in the fields of energy, policy-making, academia and entrepreneurs. Speakers will address how to navigate the frameworks agreed upon at COP28 through five specialized conferences and three interactive forums.

One of the summit's most important tracks, the "Path to 1.5°C", will address how to limit global warming to 1.5°C. The activities of this track will witness the participation of prominent experts such as Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of the Independent Climate Change Accelerators. In the UAE, and Francisco La Camera, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency.

During the summit, six conferences will be held focusing on solar energy, environmental waste, water, clean energy, smart cities, climate and the environment, and two forums will be held on green finance and e-mobility.

Discussions will address ways to increase investment in renewable energy projects, enhance energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and advance adaptation to climate change.
