Algeria is accelerating its steps to develop its energy sector and enhance its energy security by focusing on hydrogen. Algerian Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab confirmed his country's endeavors to implement the Southern Hydrogen Corridor project in partnership with European countries, especially Germany, Austria and Italy.
This project aims to establish strategic partnerships and bilateral cooperation to transport green hydrogen from Algeria to Europe. Through this project, Algeria seeks to diversify its energy sources, reduce dependence on imports, support its energy security, create new job opportunities, and achieve sustainable development.
Algeria's plans include developing clean hydrogen technology, establishing pilot projects to control its production value chain, introducing renewable energies into the national energy mix, and improving energy efficiency in various sectors.
The Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy, Fayza Dahlab, confirmed the words of the Algerian Minister of Energy; She pointed out the need to search for new sources of energy.
