The Emirati company Masdar, a leader in the field of renewable energy, announced important developments in green hydrogen projects in three Arab countries: Egypt, Morocco, and the Sultanate of Oman, as part of its endeavor to prove the feasibility of this clean fuel as an alternative to the “fuel of the future.”

Mohamed Abdel Qader Al Ramahi, CEO of the green hydrogen sector at Masdar, revealed huge green hydrogen projects in Egypt and Morocco, with a total capacity of up to 8,000 megawatts. Through these projects, the company seeks to strengthen its leading position in the field of renewable and clean energy at the global level. The world, and establishing Abu Dhabi’s role as a major center for green hydrogen production.

The UAE's Masdar plans to significantly increase its investments in green hydrogen by establishing a specialized unit to develop projects in this sector locally, regionally and globally. The company aims to produce one million tons of green hydrogen and its accessories annually by the years 2030-2033, half of which will be allocated to its production in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

In addition to its projects in the Arab region, the UAE's Masdar plans to expand in Europe, America, and the Balkan Basin countries, benefiting from its extensive experience in the field of renewable energy and its active presence in more than 40 countries around the world.

Green hydrogen is one of the new emerging sectors globally that has tremendous potential. Its investments are estimated at approximately $11 trillion by 2050, and this clean fuel represents a vital element in the process of transition towards sustainable energy. It contributes to reducing carbon emissions and strengthening global efforts to combat climate change.
