The Algerian oil and gas company Sonatrach said in a statement on Tuesday that it had signed an agreement with the Swedish company Tethys Oil. To carry out exploration, development and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the Al-Hujaira and Al-Hayyad areas.
According to what was reported in the statement on Monday of the Sonatrach Complex, the Algerian “Sonatrach” company and the French “Total Energy” signed a memorandum of understanding; To enhance the partnership between the two parties and expand areas of cooperation between them.
According to that statement, the memorandum seeks to implement a work program that evaluates and develops energy resources in the northeastern region of Timimoun, relying on existing processing facilities in the region.
The statement added that the memorandum also aims to define the frameworks of cooperation between the two parties in order to conclude a hydrocarbon contract in the area of specific interest, in light of Law No. 19-13 regulating hydrocarbon activities, according to what was reported by the official Algerian News Agency.
