Syria launched the second phase of the renewable energy project, which is being held in the industrial city of Hassia and is affiliated with Al-Anwar Photovoltaic Energy Generation Company.

Syrian Energy Minister Ghassan Al-Zamil confirmed that the government is working to encourage renewable energy projects. Because of its importance in the current circumstances, in addition to the presence of courageous national capital.

The legislation referred to by Bashar al-Assad from 2020 is considered the main driver of this project and several other projects related to solar energy, which made the ministry develop a strategy aimed at relying on renewable energies as a result of the presence of some sanctions in addition to the presence of a shortage of oil derivatives in addition to energy carriers.

Because of these oil projects, 90 megawatts were provided, generated from solar energy, to be connected to the Syrian electrical grid.

The Ministry works to provide support to companies that provide investments in renewable energy projects, in addition to providing necessary facilities for them.

This project is considered one of the most important projects in the field of renewable energy, and it is expected to connect 6 megawatts of it to the network, and after completing the implementation of two phases of it, 20 megawatts will be generated.

The project is of great economic importance. It covers about 10 megawatts generated by solar energy.

The establishment of these projects aims to reduce the burden on importing oil energy, in addition to energy carriers, and to achieve the largest possible amount of electrical supply hours for citizens.

The total cost of the project is expected to reach more than 500 billion liras, and facilities will be provided by the industrial city administration to investors.

In this context, the Director of the Industrial City Administration for Investors, Engineer Amer Khalil, stressed the necessity of allocating land with an area of about 330 hectares for the purpose of establishing several projects related to generating renewable energy.

He pointed out that the industrial city was able to go through many stages to invest these energies, and this came by providing the facilities provided to investors to implement their projects, noting that the number of projects presented in the industrial city is about 20 projects, in addition to 7 projects under implementation.

Syria is considered one of the suitable countries for establishing renewable energy projects, and it is expected that the project will be implemented by national expertise in cooperation with experts from different and diverse countries, most notably China.
