Qatar Energy stated that it had signed a 10-year long-term agreement with Japan’s INEOS Corporation to supply up to 9 million tons of naphtha for 10 years, starting next July.
According to the statement, the agreement is considered the largest and longest commitment reached during more than a decade of cooperation between the two parties.
INEOS Corporation, which was founded in 1888 under the name Japan Petroleum Corporation, is the largest refining and petrochemical company in Japan and has been working in the field of refining, manufacturing, and selling petroleum products for more than 135 years.
Japanese companies Nippon Steel and Sumitomo won orders from Qatar Energy Company last week to purchase pipes used in carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies.
