Bahrain Makes Steady Progress Toward Net-Zero Carbon Emissions

July 17, 2024

The Kingdom of Bahrain is leading the region’s efforts to adopt renewable energy as it moves steadily toward achieving its net-zero goals. The “Middle East Energy Bahrain 2024” exhibition, taking place from September 23 to 25 under the theme “Bahrain’s Ambition to Achieve Net Zero: Unveiling Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen for a Sustainable and Carbon-Free Economy,” provides an ideal platform to showcase developments and opportunities in this vital sector.

Bahrain is a regional pioneer in renewable energy and is intensifying its efforts to achieve its ambitious climate goals. The Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA) indicates that the Kingdom is on track to achieve its net-zero goals by 2060.

Dubai Renewable Energy Business Group (DREBG) has partnered with FairFare, the exhibition organizer, to support Bahrain’s renewable energy endeavors. This partnership aims to exchange knowledge and expertise and enhance cooperation in the field of decarbonization.

Bahrain’s National Energy Strategy, announced at COP26, demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to reducing emissions by 30% by 2035 and achieving net zero by 2060.
