Gazprom has announced that it continues to transit Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine via the Sudzha pumping station at the volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side on August 10—39.6 million cubic meters.

Sergey Kupriyanov, the company’s official spokesperson, noted that this figure is slightly higher than the previous day’s level.

“Gazprom is pumping Russian gas through the Sudzha station across Ukrainian territory to Europe in the volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side, which is 39.6 million cubic meters on August 10,” Kupriyanov told reporters.

Since the beginning of this year, the gas transit has remained above 40 million cubic meters per day but dropped below this level on August 7 to 39.4 million cubic meters, then to 37.3 million cubic meters on August 8, before rising again to 38.5 million cubic meters on August 9.

Russian gas supplies through Ukraine have been at reduced levels since May 2022, when the Ukrainian side announced the cessation of gas transit to Europe via the Sokhranivka station due to force majeure.

The Ukrainian side claims it cannot monitor the operation of the Novopskov pumping station in the Luhansk People’s Republic. Still, Gazprom sees no reason to halt the transit and insists on continuing it as before. The Sudzha station remains the only route for Russian gas transit through Ukraine to Europe.
