A UAE company has utilized artificial intelligence as part of its comprehensive strategy to develop oil fields in Egypt, aiming to increase production and adopt the latest global technologies in the sector.
Dragon Oil, fully owned by the Dubai government, launched an innovative project to develop the Marjan and Badri fields in the Gulf of Suez using AI technology.
This project is part of Dragon Oil’s plan to invest $500 million in Egyptian oil fields this year to maintain a production rate of 61,000 barrels per day. Dragon Oil is a leading company in the Middle East, expanding its use of AI technologies in various fields, reflecting its strategic commitment to sustainability and enhancing technological capabilities in the oil and gas industry.
The AI project aims to improve extraction efficiency, extend the life of the Marjan and Badri fields, and enhance environmental sustainability, marking a significant step toward digital transformation and innovation in Egypt’s oil and gas industry.
The project launch event was attended by Dragon Oil representatives, Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum leaders, the General Petroleum Corporation, and local and international oil companies.
The event included a four-day training program for over 50 engineers working in the oil and gas sector.
