Sonelgaz has announced the partial start-up of Algeria’s largest power plant, located east of Mostaganem. This hybrid plant will initially increase the national production capacity by 450 megawatts. According to Sonelgaz, the partial operation was achieved by integrating the first gas turbines into service.
This significant energy facility is part of a series of major energy projects recently launched by Sonelgaz. These initiatives aim to enhance national production capacity and improve public services in Mostaganem, a region known for its tourism and industry, as well as across the country. These projects are expected to boost productivity and increase Sonelgaz’s capacity to meet the energy needs of citizens more effectively.
