An important meeting between “Saudi Arabia” and “Azerbaijan” to enhance joint action to combat climate change

In a step that reflects its keenness on international cooperation in the field of climate, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held an important meeting in Jeddah with the Republic of Azerbaijan, which focused on strengthening joint action to combat climate change.

The meeting brought together His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with His Excellency Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the United Nations Climate Change Conference of States Parties (COP 29).

The meeting discussed the efforts and initiatives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to mitigate the effects of climate change. His Excellency Minister Abdulaziz highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to using renewable energy sources, and implementing initiatives such as the Saudi and Middle East green initiatives and the circular carbon economy approach; These national and regional programs aim to manage and reduce emissions, in line with global efforts to combat climate change.
