Russia’s Gazprom announced that its natural gas exports through the Sudzha pumping station near the Ukrainian border reached 42.4 million cubic meters.
The company stated that gas exports through Sudzha returned to their maximum levels of 42.4 million cubic meters on Tuesday after falling to 37.3 million cubic meters per day last week. Gazprom noted that gas supplies to Ukraine via Russia’s Sudzha, located on the border, continue uninterrupted. It is unclear which side controls the town of Sudzha, through which Moscow pumps gas from Western Siberia through Ukraine to Slovakia and other European Union countries. The EU has reduced its reliance on Russian gas since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022, with Austria remaining the most dependent on Russian supplies within the EU.
