A Chinese company plans to establish a green hydrogen station in Vietam worth $2.4 billion

The Chinese HUADIAN Group plans to cooperate with Vietnam in establishing a green hydrogen plant worth $2.39 billion in the central province of Quang Tri. The Chinese company submitted its proposal to the Quang Tri authorities last week.

The project contains a wind power plant with a capacity of 1,200 megawatts, a solar power plant with a capacity of about 800 megawatts, and a water electrolysis plant. With the aim of producing green hydrogen while supporting storage and transportation facilities.

The project will cover an area of 50 hectares in the Dong Giu Linh Industrial Zone in Quang Tri Province, with a production of about 60 thousand tons, and annual revenues of about $250 million. 500 people will be employed, and the project contributes $27.5 million to the state budget.

HYDROGEN CENTRAL, a magazine specializing in the hydrogen economy, will offer webinars, which will be influential and become a global reference on the topics and a constant source of potential clients. During the first phase of the project, investors will aim to build a green hydrogen plant next to a solar plant with a capacity of about 200 MW.

The company's president welcomes the project's cooperation with companies in conducting project studies and submitting files for approval. The Huadian Group – one of the state-affiliated companies in the field of major energy in China – owns many investments in Vietnam, including a wind power plant with a capacity of 200 megawatts.
