The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation revealed the development of the first composite liquid hydrogen system for cars weighing 100 kilograms, which is considered a new achievement in the transportation sector in China.
The company confirmed that it has developed the system, which is considered one of the basic components of heavy trucks that operate on liquid hydrogen. The new system is produced entirely within China.
The new system aims to help hydrogen-powered heavy trucks achieve an improved range of more than 1,000 km on just one charge.
When compared with the previous system, we find that the new system is characterized by a 20% increase in the actual storage size within the same overall dimensions, in addition to reducing costs by more than 30%.
An expert working for the Chinese company said that the new system has several advantages, including, for example, its production capacity of about 100 kilograms of hydrogen, which conforms to international standards, in terms of the quality of the system in addition to the hydrogen storage density.
