“Scotland”: We are able to meet Germany’s needs for green hydrogen

May 26, 2024

Scotland has the potential to meet all of Germany's green hydrogen needs by 2045, a report shows; This cooperation is expected to play an important role in achieving the climate goals of both countries and creating new economic opportunities.

According to the report, there are several key factors that support cooperation, including the huge potential, as Scotland has abundant sources of wind and solar energy; This makes it an ideal location for green hydrogen production.

Among the factors that support cooperation between the two countries is the increasing demand. As Germany seeks to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels, green hydrogen is an important element in its plans to achieve this cooperation. Both governments have therefore demonstrated their commitment to working together to make this cooperation possible.

The 2030 plans will focus on activities for the early production and end-use of green hydrogen, and then in 2045 the focus will be on operating and building infrastructure for hydrogen pipelines.

It is expected that reducing carbon emissions will help green hydrogen reduce greenhouse gas emissions in both Scotland and Germany, and the green hydrogen sector will create new job opportunities in both countries.

As for energy security, Scotland will become a major source of clean energy for Germany. Which enhances energy security for both countries.
