This memorandum aims to invest and process associated gas from oil fields, and use it to supply gas to power stations. Which contributes to improving the country's energy supply.
The Iraqi Ministry of Oil chose to cooperate with Siemens Energy and Schlumberger to implement this project, due to their global reputation and extensive experience in the field of gas processing and power generation technologies. This cooperation will contribute to the transfer of knowledge and modern technology to Iraq, which enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of the energy sector. in the country.
It is expected that this project will result in the establishment of an electrical station with a capacity of 2000 megawatts.
These were not the first agreements between Iraq and Siemens Energy; It concluded an agreement with them in March of this year, which led to the production of about 240 million standard cubic feet of gas within one year.
