The Middle East region faces challenges in using solar energy due to its arid desert terrain. So Trina Solar, together with its partners, is working to solve these challenges through innovative projects that transform sand dunes into clean and sustainable energy sources.

The most important of these projects are:
● Jubail3A solar water desalination project in Saudi Arabia:
It is the first large-scale desalination facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that uses solar energy as a supplementary energy source. It covers 20% of the water plant’s daily energy needs. It also reduces carbon emissions by 60,000 tons annually, and provides drinking water to 3 million people.

● Navoi power station in Uzbekistan:
The first large-scale solar power plant in Uzbekistan, it enables 31,000 local households with electricity, reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 150,000 tons per year, creates local jobs and boosts the local economy.

● Ulan Buh Desert Management, Energy Storage and Solar Project in Inner Mongolia:
The project turns sand dunes into a “sea of electricity”, uses Trina Solar’s Vertex series modules, and a 30MW/60MWh energy storage system provides a constant supply of electricity.
