The state-owned Oman LNG Company signed an agreement with the Turkish company Botash to supply one million metric tons annually for 10 years starting in 2025, according to a statement reported by the Oman News Agency on Friday.
This is the company's third announcement of its kind within a few days. Last Tuesday, the Omani company agreed with the Japanese company Jira to supply 0.8 million metric tons of liquefied gas annually for a period of 10 years, starting in 2025.
The Omani company also agreed on Wednesday with Shell Trading Middle East to supply it with about 1.6 million metric tons annually for a period of 10 years starting in 2025.
Hamad bin Mohammed Al Numani, CEO of the Oman LNG Company, stated that these agreements would enhance the Omani company’s reputation as a reliable provider of liquefied natural gas, and also demonstrate its pioneering ability to manage business operations efficiently to provide sustainable and safe energy to customers around the world.
The production of the industrial complex of the Oman LNG Company in the Wilayat of Sur recorded an increase to 11.5 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas annually, according to a previous statement. The International Energy Agency expects gas demand to peak in all expected scenarios by 2030.
