March 19, 2024

The French company Total Energy issued statistics on the number of contracts concluded by the company regarding solar energy. The company said that it has concluded contracts that may exceed the energy capacity of the sun’s energy produced, including 1.5 gigawatts for more than 600 customers around the world.

The company added that these contracts for installing solar panels are established in industrial areas and rooftops of buildings. So that it will be a source of energy for workers and residents in those areas.

Total Energy added that agreements called “Power Purchase Agreements” have been concluded. These agreements extend for about 20 years, and guarantee their buyers that they will obtain electricity at prices 20% lower than international prices, and that percentage reaches 45%.

The company's head of renewable energy production, Matteo Langeron, said that the company hopes to produce about 100 gigawatts of solar energy by 2030, but it will be able to generate less than 10% of what it hopes, as it will generate only 8 or 9 gigawatts according to current data.
