The Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources issued two tenders to provide the homes of poor families benefiting from the National Aid Fund with solar energy systems.
The project aims to provide homes with solar energy systems with a capacity of 3 kilowatts, along with their installation, operation, and maintenance, in the governorates of the center, Mafraq, Al-Aghwar, Jerash, and Ajloun. The project will be implemented under the license of the three distribution companies in those governorates.
The Ministry announced a similar tender to maintain Irbid Governorate, and it will be implemented within the Irbid Electricity Company license. There are conditions for submission that must be met, including, for example, that the homes must benefit from the National Aid Fund, the houses must be fully owned by the beneficiary, and there must be sufficient space on the roof of the house to install the solar system.
The sale of copies of the tender began electronically through the website of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Monday, and the deadline for submitting offers is Thursday, July 4.
This project aims to achieve a number of benefits, including reducing the burden of the electricity bill on poor families, promoting the use of renewable energy in Jordan, and contributing to achieving sustainable development goals.
The bids are electronic, and copies are sold through the website of the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The conditions for submission for homes benefiting from the project have been clarified, and the project’s objectives and benefits have been emphasized.
