The “G7” seeks to impose a ceiling on Russian oil prices

April 21, 2024

The text of the final statement of the G7 foreign ministers at the conclusion of their meeting on the Italian island of Capri, on Friday, confirmed the G7's intention to continue undermining the development of Russia's future energy projects.

According to the statement carried by the Russian TASS agency, the group’s final statement stated that they will continue to take the necessary measures and procedures with the aim of controlling the ceiling of oil prices.

The G7 countries will also continue to obstruct Russian efforts that would develop alternative ways to provide energy resources and other services that include oil transportation and transportation insurance.

The statement stressed that the foreign ministers of the G7 countries intend to fight any attempts to circumvent or circumvent the restrictions and sanctions imposed on exports, including close cooperation with third countries.

The statement explained that all companies and citizens from third countries, which are countries that help Russia obtain tools and equipment that help in the production of Russian weapons and its military industrial development, will be subject to sanctions. The seven countries also warned Iran of the consequences of transferring ballistic missiles to Russia.
