May 15, 2024

Qatar revealed that it has added 60 million tons of natural gas to production, and that it will enhance its sales after concluding agreements to sell 25 million tons.

Saad Al Kaabi, Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs – Managing Director and CEO of Qatar Energy, said today, Wednesday, in a speech at the Qatar Economic Forum sessions organized by Bloomberg – that Qatar, one of the largest gas producers in the world, will embark on more projects in the energy sector.

Al-Kaabi stressed that gas will not be dispensed with soon and that the world will need petroleum sources and resources for long periods of time, adding: “There will be a good approach to achieving a balance between supply and demand for gas.”

The Qatari minister said that Europe has realized its need for a more secure strategy regarding its gas and energy needs.

Regarding the energy transition, Al-Kaabi explained that there are solutions proposed by politicians regarding the energy transition, the green economy, and emissions, but with some exaggeration, stressing the need to be realistic.
