The northern refineries affiliated with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil are witnessing a massive refining revolution that strengthens their position as a major player in the field of refining in the Middle East.

The Project Management Department at the Northern Refineries supervises the implementation of huge projects to establish new refining units. Which will greatly double the production capacity of the refineries.

The establishment of Refining Unit 3 at the Salah al-Din Refinery is the cornerstone of the new Salah al-Din Refinery 3, which will be added to the company’s refinery complex with a refining capacity of 70,000 barrels per day.

These projects will contribute to increasing the total production capacity of the northern refineries to 380 thousand barrels per day during the next year. Which makes it one of the largest liquidation companies in the Middle East.
Northern Refineries continues its efforts to modernize its external refineries. It works to increase the refining capacity of the Kirkuk, Siniya, Haditha and Qayyarah refineries.

It is expected that the production capacity of the external refineries will reach 204 thousand barrels per day after the completion of modernization projects. Thus, the total production capacity of the Northern Refineries Company will reach 584 thousand barrels per day, which is an unprecedented refining capacity in the field of the refining sector.

The plans of the northern refineries are not only limited to increasing production capacity, but also focus on improving the quality of products and reducing environmental impact.

The huge development projects implemented by the northern refineries represent a true refining revolution that paves the way towards globalization. These projects contribute to enhancing Iraq’s energy security, providing more job opportunities, and generating enormous financial returns for the state.
