The timing of these talks between the two parties coincides with the efforts of both the UAE and Saudi Arabia, on the one hand, to invest in carbon-neutral projects, and on the other hand, Britain’s desire to search for an investor for its nuclear project called “Sizewell C”, which is operated by the French company “EDF”, in southeastern England. .

A spokesman for the British Ministry of Energy Security and Zero Emissions said that the "Sizewell C" project is at the top of the British government's interests, as it is a project that will contribute to the production of clean energy in a safe and low-cost manner.

Reuters also reported from a Minister of State at the British Ministry of Energy Security that Britain and France are cooperating to allocate $25.2 billion to complete the Sizewell C nuclear energy project. Therefore, the talks came with the Emirati side, which had previously signed – specifically in December 2023 – what is known as a “Memorandum of Understanding on Civil Nuclear Cooperation” with Britain on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties.
