International fears of a nuclear disaster.. “Ukraine” warns of a fabricated Russian operation in “Zaporizhia”

April 15, 2024

The Ukrainian military leadership raised a warning about the possibility of Russia carrying out a fabricated operation at the Zaporizhya nuclear power plant, the largest nuclear plant in Europe and the third largest in the world, in the coming days.

Ukraine fears that this operation aims to blame it for any nuclear accident that may occur at the station located in the south of the country.

Russian forces have controlled the Zaporizhya station since 2022, shortly after the start of their full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russia uses the station as pressure cards on Ukraine and the international community.

Russia and Ukraine exchanged accusations of trying to provoke an accident at the nuclear power plant.

Ukraine points the finger at Russia as "the only terrorist state in the world" that is holding a nuclear power plant hostage and using it to blackmail the world.

At the same time, Russia continues its attacks on Ukrainian cities; Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine, was subjected to Russian air attacks with drones throughout the night on Saturday.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced that it shot down all ten Russian drones that flew over the Kharkiv region.

The situation at the Zaporizhya station is of concern to the international community. International bodies warned of the dangers of a nuclear accident that could have dire consequences.
