The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation succeeded in achieving an important achievement by completing the process of connecting the fourth station in Barakah to the UAE electricity grid. This process was completed by Nawah Energy Company, the operating arm of the corporation, in accordance with the highest standards of safety and quality.
This achievement is a milestone in the country’s journey towards transitioning to clean energy sources and reaching climate neutrality by 2050. The fourth station will add 1,400 megawatts of clean electricity to the UAE network. This enhances grid stability and ensures energy security by providing carbon-free energy around the clock.
The specialized work teams in Nawah cooperated closely with TRANSCO, a subsidiary of TAQA. To build overhead lines linking the Barakah stations to the Abu Dhabi network. These lines ensure that the energy produced by the Barakah stations reaches safely to consumers throughout the country.
Connecting the fourth station to the network enhances the role of Barakah stations in achieving the goals of the state’s strategic initiative for climate neutrality 2050. It also contributes significantly to the development of a diverse portfolio of clean energy sources in the Emirates, and confirms the state’s commitment to diversifying its energy sources and ensuring the reliability and sustainability of the energy sector over the long term.
