On Monday, oil prices settled at their lowest level in eight months as concerns about a potential recession in the United States overshadowed worries about the impact of escalating tensions in the Middle East on oil supplies from the world’s largest producing region. As of 00:35 GMT, Brent crude futures fell by four cents, or 0.1%, to $76.77 per barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures dropped by 13 cents, or 0.2%, to $73.39 per barrel.
