A number of British officials have warned of several challenges facing tourism, especially in eastern England, stressing that if the region does not install and establish many electric car charging points, it will suffer a crisis.
A member of Norfolk County Council from the Liberal Democratic Party expressed his concern that many people are moving to electric cars, noting the need to quickly deploy public charging points.

The government aims to have 300,000 public charging points in the United Kingdom by 2030, and an average of 61 devices have been installed during the current year 2024.
The eastern region is considered touristic and contributes a large part to the economy, and people will likely be put off visiting Norfolk if they cannot change their electric cars.
Jimmy, CEO of The Charge, hopes to build and establish an electric car charging service station on the outskirts of Diss, despite the refusal of South Norfolk Council.
The company is developing sites in Felixstowe and Lowestoft and aims to develop Harleston, and there is a need for more charging points in the area.
There must be government support aimed at encouraging people to switch to electric cars. The support will help many people to buy electric cars and something can be done about the value-added tax imposed on public electric charging points.
The number of public charging points has increased by 63% in the East of England since April 2023, and more than £42 million continues to be supported to install charging points for those without electricity, as well as street parking in the area.
