$325 million to complete the “Ghubrah” desalination plant in the “Sultanate of Oman”

Nama Omani Power and Water Procurement Company signed an agreement with an alliance consisting of three local and international companies.

The agreement was signed between the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nama Company, Engineer Abdulaziz bin Saad, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Capital Desalination Company, Marta Verde, in the presence of the Minister of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi.

The agreement aims to build the third phase of the Al-Ghubrah desalination plant. The project’s investment cost is 125 million Omani riyals, and the production capacity is about 300,000 cubic meters per day of desalinated water. The area of the plant is 70,000 square meters and includes a potable water tank with a capacity of 45 liters. One thousand cubic meters per day.

The capacity of the station represents 20% of the contracted capacity in the basic water network. The station is considered the largest of its kind for water desalination and one of the most prominent strategic projects in the sector in Oman and represents an important step aimed at enhancing water security in the Sultanate.

The agreement comes in light of the company’s commitment and continuous work to implement new projects aimed at achieving energy security and providing fresh water through expanding the production of energy and desalinated water at the best cost and lowest return. The company is committed to providing the best solutions in this project, especially with its great experience in the field of water desalination through Use the latest technology.

The company is responsible for establishing more than 30 stations around the world during the past fifty years, and provided the latest expertise to establish the station in Amman.

The Sultanate aims to maintain sustainability by following the highest standards, such as providing practical design solutions and reducing electricity consumption, in addition to improving quality through monitoring systems. The company has a successful long-term strategy that aims to protect the environment through several measures.

The engineering and technical capabilities and extensive experience contribute to raising the efficiency of the station’s operation and reducing the cost of production, and also contribute to providing job opportunities for young people directly or indirectly during the construction and operation period.

The duration of the agreement is approximately 20 years from the date of construction of the station, which is considered one of the best projects established to achieve water security.
