May 14, 2024

Dubai Ports World Group (DP World) today, Tuesday, concluded a strategic partnership agreement with InRide, a leading company in the field of electric autonomous transportation solutions, aimed at converting container transport operations between the stations of Jebel Ali Port, the tenth busiest container port in the world, into energy. Fully electric.

This partnership represents an important achievement in DB World’s journey towards achieving its sustainability goals, as it aims to enhance the environmental efficiency of port operations and significantly reduce carbon emissions. This step also represents a revolution in the goods transport sector, and contributes to achieving sustainable development goals and reducing Carbon emissions.

InRide is scheduled to begin providing its services at the end of 2024, when it will deploy a fleet of 100 connected electric trucks running the InRide Saga system, the company's own digital operating system.

This system aims to analyze and improve the efficiency of electric-powered autonomous transport operations, and a pilot scheme for self-driving container transport will be implemented in 2025.

Upon reaching full operational capacity, this service will contribute to reducing carbon emissions by up to 14,600 tons annually of carbon dioxide equivalent and approximately 158 tons annually of nitrogen oxides, which contributes significantly to reducing air pollution and improving environmental quality in the region.
