The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity continues to take aggressive steps to confront the recurring energy crisis facing the country, by concluding strategic partnerships with leading international companies in the field of energy.

The Ministry of Electricity announced the signing of an important agreement with the German company Siemens, which aims to convert burned gas into fuel within a record period of 6 months.

The agreement aims to invest in associated gas and convert it into electrical energy in a sustainable manner, meet citizens’ energy needs with high efficiency, eliminate the phenomenon of burning gas and exploit it effectively to generate electricity, and also adhere to the decisions of the Paris Climate Conference and contribute to protecting the environment.

One of the most important features of this agreement is that it will invest 120 million standard cubic feet of gas within 6 months, with the possibility of increasing the quantity to an additional 120 million cubic feet within one year, in addition to enhancing the capabilities of the electricity network by establishing an electricity generation station with a production capacity of 2000 megawatts. ; This contributes to ensuring the stability of processing hours.

The Ministry of Electricity continues its tireless efforts to ensure the stability of energy supplies by signing long-term agreements with international companies such as General Electric and Siemens to conduct comprehensive maintenance of generating units over a period of 5 years, and to invest in wasted energy by installing stations operating with associated gas.

The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity shows a strong commitment to providing citizens’ energy needs in a sustainable and safe manner, and to enhancing the capabilities of the national electricity network, through well-thought-out plans, advanced programs, and strategic international partnerships.
