OQ Oman, through its Alternative Energy Division, announced the signing of an agreement with a group of major international companies. With the aim of conducting a joint study of a sustainable fuel supply project.

OQ Alternative Energy and TriEnergy Solutions signed an agreement to study the feasibility of establishing a sustainable natural gas production unit using green hydrogen and the “Sabatier” reaction. This process will facilitate the transition to industrial consumption and gradually replace traditional gas.

OQ Alternative Energy CEO, Najla Al Jamali, stressed the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

For his part, CEO of TriEnergy Solutions, Marco Alvera, stressed the importance of the agreement in promoting the global transformation in the energy sector and consolidating the company’s presence in the Middle East.

This agreement is considered an important step to provide new visions for green hydrogen projects and their operation. Which contributes to establishing the green energy industry in Oman and the region.

The memorandum of understanding seeks to develop experiments to prove the feasibility of producing sustainable fuel on a pilot scale, with the possibility of expanding to commercial production, and to evaluate the feasibility of establishing a facility to produce sustainable automobile and aircraft fuel.

Oman aims to produce more than one million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030, taking advantage of its renewable resources such as wind and solar energy, and the unified implementation framework led by Hydrom.
