Adoption of the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030

The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) discussed the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030, which aims to spread the concept of green and sustainable transportation in Dubai, and support the emirate’s strategic goals in the areas of sustainability, air quality, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The 82nd meeting of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai was chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and was attended by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Council.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy, stressed the Council’s commitment to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. To make Dubai the happiest and smartest city in the world, and a leading global model for smart urban development, while promoting environmentally friendly transportation.

Al Tayer added, “The Supreme Council of Energy is working to develop and improve a comprehensive sustainable environment for current and future generations.”

The green mobility strategy is in line with national plans aimed at promoting sustainable development and reducing carbon emissions from various means of public transport, including buses, taxis and the metro.

The Roads and Transport Authority has developed a roadmap that includes annual programs and initiatives, aiming to convert all public transportation to carbon-free by 2050.
