Discussions between “Algeria” and “Azerbaijan” to move towards clean energy

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf, spoke during his meeting with the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elchin Amirbayov, about aspects related to the issue of transition towards clean energy. Azerbaijan seeks to organize the Baku Conference on Climate Change (COP29) during next November, and this was done during his meeting in Headquarters of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry stated that the two parties discussed the latest developments in the regional situation, pointed out the close relations between the two countries, and stressed the need to push for broader fields and broader horizons, especially in the economic field. The two parties discussed aspects related to the issue of clean energy transition, in light of the outcomes of the seventh summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, which Algeria recently hosted, and is working on Azerbaijan agreed to organize the Baku conference on climate change.

On Wednesday, Attaf received at the headquarters of the Criminal Ministry of Foreign Affairs the envoy of the Azerbaijani President during his meeting with the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two parties discussed the latest developments in the regional situation and stressed the strong relations between the two countries. The need to advance broader fields and broader horizons, especially in the economic field, was stressed within the framework of Preparing for the upcoming bilateral events that coincide with the two countries’ commemoration in 2024 of the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them.
