The World Future Energy Summit 2024 carries the slogan “Clean Investment”

The United Arab Emirates will host the Arab Future Energy Summit 2024 during the period between April 16 and 18, and it is expected that the slogan “Clean Investment” will be raised at the top of the summit’s priorities. The summit is considered an important event at the global level as it aims to enhance goals and commitments in the global energy sector. It is considered one of the most important platforms that works to showcase innovative solutions to climate challenges that were identified at the COP28 climate summit.

The summit achieved record numbers during the previous session, and the current session is expected to witness greater participation by attendees in addition to exhibitors. The summit is expected to bring together a huge number of investors in addition to experts in the field of energy. As attendees seek to achieve ambitious climate goals by 2030.

The CEO of the Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, announced participation in the World Future Energy Summit 2024. This comes in light of the World Future Energy Summit, where efforts are integrated to develop innovative solutions and projects that support the UAE’s leading position in the field of sustainability.

The Ministry is scheduled to highlight the effective steps and procedures as it works to support the UAE’s march towards global leadership in the field of energy and sustainability, and this comes to achieve the goals of the UAE Centennial 2071. The summit is considered an opportunity aimed at strengthening international cooperation with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences in the field of clean energy and achieving the goals of the summit. Climate COP 28 and the Paris Agreement, and the Ministry’s participation embodies its endeavors to exchange experiences and knowledge, as it aims to diversify energy sources in addition to achieving carbon neutrality. The UAE aims to diversify energy sources by relying on practices and technologies that support the sustainability of the sector. It is considered the first country in the region to ratify the Paris Climate Agreement, as the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 was launched in 2017, which was updated in 2023 to accelerate the energy transition.

The goal of the strategy is to reduce carbon and achieve carbon neutrality by tripling the contribution of renewable energy by 2030, in addition to raising the efficiency of individual and institutional consumption by a rate ranging between 42 and 45%.

The UAE is working to increase the total installed capacity of clean energy from 14.2 gigawatts to 19.8 gigawatts by 2030, in addition to raising the contribution of the installed capacity of clean energy to the total energy mix to 30% by 2030.

The UAE has launched the National Strategy for Green Hydrogen 2050, which is considered a long-term plan to consolidate the UAE’s position as a global leader in the field of production and use of clean hydrogen by producing 15 million tons of hydrogen annually by 2050.
