“Saudi Arabia” launches two new units to support energy transformation efforts

Saudi Arabia has launched two new units for electrical transformation and artificial intelligence work, in a move that will support the Kingdom’s efforts in the energy transition in addition to reducing emissions.

Al Alat Company, which is affiliated with the Public Investment Fund, revealed the launch of two new business units for electrical transformation and infrastructure, during the Milken Institute conference in Los Angeles, United States of America.

The global CEO of Alat confirmed that the two new units will have a significant contribution to achieving the comprehensive strategic goal of Alat, which aims to achieve a developed and sustainable future for the industry.

The company aims to lead the transformation of global industries in addition to establishing a manufacturing center with global standards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It also wants to enhance network technologies and spread the use of advanced technologies, in addition to generating electricity to become a source produced through solar energy, wind energy, and clean hydrogen energy to power industrial processes.

The company also aims to manufacture solutions that would contribute to the global energy transition in addition to decarbonizing the industrial sector, by investing in Saudi Arabia’s rich solar energy resources and industrial systems that operate on electrical energy.

The company emphasizes electrical transformation work in addition to transmission and distribution technologies, and will include connecting renewable energy sources to the network and providing the latest technologies with the aim of generating and compressing gas and hydrogen, noting its focus on enhancing artificial intelligence capabilities, including network and communications equipment and servers.

Relying on artificial intelligence, along with other Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, is considered an essential element for achieving a qualitative leap in the field of smart manufacturing and the establishment of smart factories, and the Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Business Unit will lead the creation of innovative solutions for “Alakat” customers.
