Russia’s fuel oil exports increased in August following the completion of maintenance work at some oil refineries. According to Russia’s Kommersant newspaper, citing information from Kpler, a data and analytics firm, Russian fuel oil exports rose to about 1.1 million barrels per day in the first 23 days of this month, compared to 900,000 barrels per day in July.
The newspaper pointed out that the main importers of Russian fuel oil are China and India, where it is used for power generation. It added that fuel oil production increased at the Novoshakhtinsk and Tuapse refineries, which resumed production after Ukrainian drone attacks.
