The Emirates Energy Award, through its various categories, aims to support global efforts to provide clean and renewable energy solutions, especially for developing communities, as a cornerstone of sustainability. This initiative comes when international efforts are being combined to encourage innovation and effective solutions to mitigate climate change and reduce carbon emissions.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Chairman of the Emirates Energy Award, stated that the award aims to encourage education and scientific research in the field of energy efficiency and its projects and to honor efforts made by both the public and private sectors in this field. “We hope that the award, through its winning contributions, will highlight this aspect and find sustainable solutions for communities, ensuring a sustainable future for us and future generations,” Al Tayer added.

The award’s objectives align with strategies aimed at transforming Dubai into a global hub for clean energy and a green economy, supporting the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050 to provide 100% of energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.

The award highlights distinguished projects, ideas, and innovations in this field, transforming them into tangible realities benefiting all communities and business sectors. It also aligns with the goals of the “Paris Climate Agreement” to encourage countries to develop and adopt long-term strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit the global temperature rise to below 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels.
